Although sweet or salty junk food is enjoyable to eat, a new study has reached conclusions that will upset junk food lovers. The research, published in the journal Neurology, revealed that people who consume excessively processed foods such as drinks and chocolate have a higher risk of developing Forgetfulness.

A new study published in Neurology has revealed that consuming too much processed food increases the risk of dementia. Moreover, even if the consumption of ultra-processed foods is increased by only 50 grams, the risk is greatly increased.

According to the study, those who consume as much unprocessed or minimally processed food as the equivalent of half an apple a day have a 3% lower risk of dementia than those who consume ultra-processed food. Consuming under-processed or unprocessed food instead of ultra-processed food helps reduce this risk.

Even consuming only 50 grams more increases the risk of Forgetfulness:

The research conducted was not a small-scale study. Scientists studied the health data of 72 thousand 83 people who are part of the UK Biobank. while these people over the age of 55 showed no signs of Forgetfulnessat first, 518 people were diagnosed with dementia after 10 years. These people consisted of people who consumed excessively processed foods.

Of the 518 people diagnosed with dementia, 150 consumed an average of 814 grams of over-processed food per day. Of the people diagnosed, 105 were those who consumed very small amounts of over-processed foods.
